Showreel research:
My plan for next year is to move on to university, I have been looking into a different universities in and outside of London. I've looked into five universities, the one's i've looked at are: University of York, University of Bournemouth, Ravensbourne university, Greenwich university and university of Westminister. I believe this is the right decision for me as having a degree will open up more work opportunities for me as employers like to see people have a degree in their line of work not only that but I believe I will be able to learn more and improve as a editor, I also believe that it will help me get better with using sound equipment and camera equipment
What I like about this showreels is that they use a variety of shots to sell there message about dreams and going for the adventure. The use of nature in the showreel makes it feel more sarin.
I like the after effects titles and guideline effect on the animals. It shows off nature as well as the give characters to all the different bugs and plant life. I don't like the music that they used with the video, for me it did not feel like it worked well with this type of video.
I don't like some of the effects that were used in the video nor do I like the music that was being played in the background. However, I like the shots that were used. I don't like the grid effect that was used.
When doing my showreel I will try and recreate shots similar to these as well as the effects that are used in the screen shots.
Today I set up my UCAS profile and began looking into different universities that I want to apply for. I added all the universities I am interested in.
