Unit 6

Wednesday 2pm-3pm

Week 1: We met with the dancers to discuss the idea's for the music video. My group came up with the idea of there being a party and it shows all the relationships.

Week 2: We went to the dance studio and watch the dancers do the chorus of the song while we took practice shots to see what would work well.

Week 3: We went to the dance studio to discuss roles in the production and costume design.

Week 4: We went to the dance studio and listened to the full length of the song as well as watch the dancers rehearse the trio and quartet dances.

 Recording week

Day 1: We went to the T.v studio to record the chorus and the couples dance.

Day 2: We went to king Georges park and began recording the chorus and group dances. Later we went to the car park and recorded the chorus and guitar solo. We later went to the blue wall to record a couples dance, we later went back to the tv studio to re-record the chorus.

Day 3: We went to the theater and we recorded the chorus, couples dance and then took some shots of the couples on a bench.

Research: In one section of the song there is a spoken word where a guy is talking about them breaking up then getting bak together, for that part the person speaking could be walking and talking about it like in this song.

When the first female starts to sing they could be face-to-face with their partner like in this video.

An Idea for the chorus was recording it in a park like this video, we'd have all the dancers in the center doing the chorus. We would need to get different angles of it i.e. From behind, from both sides and from the front either as a close up, long shot or medium shot.
An idea for one of the Couple dances was it could be in a gym or carpark where the couple would dance in a bundle like this video.
One idea that we came up with was using photo's of the dancers and have them dance in the photo's then go from their picture to another couples picture. We would use something to tell the story/song like in Bruno mars 'Just the way you are'.
This is the the outcome of the music video. In Premiere I used filters to make the colors seem vibrant instead of plain and boring. There is still room for improvement as I reused clips instead of getting new ones. There weren't many recordings as the dance group had only the chorus, couples dance, duet, trio and a quartet dance. The initial idea was to have the couples dancing in a picture before moving on to another photo with the other couples dancing inside it. The target audience are teenagers aged 10-15. The music is an original song called "demon dogs" written by one of the dancers. I used the title of the song as opening credits then had my logo as the ending credits.
These are the filters I used to add colour to the music video.
